Meet Andy Brown

I’m a professional photographer, videographer, and creative director with a lifelong devotion to storytelling and teaching people how to tell their own tales.

I’ve been photographing the world since I was ten years old and I’ve been behind a camera professionally since 1999. As a former writer, I try to capture more than images. I want to craft narratives. Whether I’m documenting wildlife on land or underwater, or producing commercial campaigns in automotive, food, and K–12 education, my focus is always the same: tell the story with clarity, emotion, and precision.

In 2008, I was named the National Photography Examiner for Examiner.com, and then in 2016, a very personal photo project about loss and rebuilding after a house fire prompted TEDxAM to invite me to be their keynote artist in 2016. My work has also earned recognition from organizations including The Ad Club, the Education Digital Awards, PhotoCrowd, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, and the International Chocolate Salon, along with international publication (Dessert Professional, Good Chocolate, Bicycling, MountainBike). But the awards matter less to me than the impact — helping brands communicate with intention, helping schools share their mission, and helping passionate photographers see their story in a new light.

I’m known for my interesting and innovative composition, detail-oriented editing, collaborative creative direction, and a coaching style rooted in care and passion. Whether I’m behind the lens or mentoring a team, I believe the strongest work comes from trust, curiosity, and a relentless commitment to excellence.

At the heart of it all, I’m still the same kid I was when I first picked up a camera — endlessly curious, chasing light, and looking for the story waiting to be told.
